Reval patterned

/ M2

Reval patterned refers to the material with a more striking pattern than usual that has been sorted out while processing limestone Reval. This very distinct pattern is characterized by bluish-gray and brownish spots here and there. Compared to the classic limestone Reval, this stone has more character.

In the case of Reval patterned we can only offer the products we already have in stock (meaning that we can’t produce according to order). The selection includes floor tiles and skirtings with honed surfaces.

The Reval patterned tiles may be available in the following sizes:

  • 200 x falling lengths x 10 mm (85€/m² + VAT);
  • 300 x falling lengths x 10 mm (85€/m² + VAT);
  • 400 x falling lengths x 10 mm (85€/m² + VAT);
  • 600 x 600 x 15 mm (129€/m² + VAT).

Our classic limestone Reval floor tiles are available with honed surface and brushed antique surface. You can also order skirtings made of the same material.

Description

The long tradition of using limestone Reval and its popularity is confirmed by the fact that large projects using this stone have been created from the 13th century (Tallinn’s fortifications and houses of Tallinn old town) and until today (Kumu art museum).

It has been used as a good building stone for centuries in the old towns of Tallinn and St Petersburg and it’s still popular.

In the Scandinavian market, the names Lindholmen and Estlandia Kalksten are also used for this stone.

The slip resistance of honed limestone Reval is as follows: 55.7 for dry surface and 35.6 for wet surface. The dry surface value corresponds to rating P5 (R13) and the wet surface value corresponds to P3 (R11). The ratings P5/R13 indicate greatest level of slip resistance and very low risk of slip. The ratings P3/R11 indicate moderate risk of slip. Tests were performed in the Stone Pole Oy laboratory in Finland.

Explanation of falling lengths

In case of falling lengths, the tile’s length and width are determined, but its length will vary:

  • for the 200 mm tile between 350-600 mm;
  • for the 300 mm tile between 450-700 mm;
  • for the 400 mm tile between 450-800 mm.

You can find more information about the falling lengths here.

Care instructions

Natural stone is a relatively delicate and sensitive material and any objects harder than the stone can scratch its surface. The surface of the stone can be cleaned either with pure water or special cleaning agents.

In case of interior use and not very damp rooms, it is recommended to wax the stone. The layer of wax will protect the surface from getting dirty. Here you can get a more detailed overview of caring for natural stone.
